Often times a customer or client will purchase an item or items from a seller on eBay or from
another source, and ask if the seller can send the item directly to us for evaluation. Although we understand that the
client is attempting to save time, shipping costs, etc., we can no longer do this as part of our service. The buyer
should make sure that the seller allows a return period that is long enough to allow the buyer (or potential buyer) enough
time to receive the item, and then send it off for evaluation and/or authentication services.
When
the seller sends items directly to an authenticator for a client, and then the opinion of the authenticator is not favorable
to the sale, this often results in the seller becoming angry which then creates a situation where the authenticator is
"in the middle" and dishonest sellers (of which there are many, especially on eBay) will do anything and
everything to get out of refunding money to the buyer, as well as paying evaluation costs, return shipping costs, etc. There
have also been situations where the piece has been returned to the seller, and the seller then claims he did not receive it
or that it was "damaged" by the authenticator, etc. Just about every story in the book.
Regretfully, for these reasons we can no longer accept any item(s) sent to us from a Third Party.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and hope you understand.
