The fee for each item submitted for evaluation is $20, plus return shipping and handling.
Shipments are limited to no more than 20 items per shipment unless a previous arrangement is made. If submitting MORE
than 10 items PER SHIPMENT, (11 to 20 pieces), the fee drops to $15 per item submitted plus return shipping and
handling.
Please note: The fee is for the evaluation, and the cost of each
evaluation is not determined by whether or not the piece is found to be genuine.
Appraisals can be
added, but are separate from the evaluation, and of course are completed for GENUINE, ancient artifacts only. This can
be done for an additional $5 included for each item. For items that I feel are not authentic, and the add'l appraisal
fee was included for that item, I will refund the $5 appraisal fee for that piece.
IMPORTANT:
Full payment MUST be included with the shipment, and if not, the sender will be notified upon receipt of the items.
(The items will then be held until payment is received.) If payment is not received within 2 weeks, the items
will be returned to the sender and the sender will be billed for appropriate shipping and handling costs.
Return shipping is $15 per box,
and this will provide Insured Priority US Mail with Signature Confirmation (not "Delivery Confirmation"
which only means the Postal Service left it outside the door, and possibly at the wrong address)
If
you require insurance, the return shipping and handling cost is $20.00 per box, and this will buy $400 worth of insurance
in addition to signature confirmation upon arrival back to you.
I always recommend
using Registered US Mail, which is MUCH safer, especially for shipping valuable or important items. Return shipping
and handling for Registered Mail is $30 to $60 or higher per shipment, depending upon how much insurance
you want. If you require more, please provide additional return shipping funds. Note: The maximum amount
of insurance allowed by the postal service for registered mail is $25K per parcel.) Please remember that
the Postal Service simply throws insured Priority Mail in with all the tons of UN-insured mail, whereas Registered US mail
is under lock and key nearly the entire length of the trip, and is handled much more carefully. Although the
"Registered Mail" fee is higher than Priority Mail, the cost of insurance for the SAME amount of coverage is actually
LESS than Priority Mail, since the Postal Service is well aware that Registered is much safer in transit then Insured Priority
Mail.
